DOTHAN: 11:31 PM Dothan Police Patrol went to stop a vehicle on Lafayette Street in DOthan.
The driver of the vehicle made the decision to not stop. Not the person "under the blue lights" but "the person "in front of the blue lights" made the conscious decision to fail to stop of the Dothan Police Car.
The vehicle was only traveling 35 MPH. Just as the vehicle hit Summertree Apartments on Fortner Street, with the Dothan Police Officers blue lights and siren activated, the vehicle sped up to 45 MPH as he turned into the apartments. The suspect raced to the back of the apartments and the officer radioed the suspect was about to "bail", run.
The officer was quick. The suspect was tased before making it to far. The suspect was yelling for a crowd. LOL - when he was the one who failed to stop!
Dothan Police have the suspect in custody. Unknown to me what the initial stop was for. But the suspect knew the officer was behind him because the audible siren could be heard clearly.
The supect is in custody.
UPDATED @ 12:59 AM
Dothan Fire responded to the scene. No transport, the matter was a police matter.
Not sure if suspect tased or pepper spray administered.
