LOVETOWN: 09:20 AM This morning at 9:20 AM Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched multiple fire departments to a structure fire located at 176 Ryals Road.
Ryals Road is a dead end dirt road off County Road 33 just south of Enterprise Church Road.
The primary fire department is Lovetown Fire. Mutual Aid assisting, Cottonwood Fire, Ashford Fire, and Pansey Fire. Water was a issue because no fire hydrant on the dirt road.
Flames were visible when the first fireman arrived. The house, a double wide mobile home, was a total loss.
Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah notified Red Cross who is responding with immediate needs of the family.
The house was occupied by a man, his wife and son. This was his weekend on visitation with his three daughters.
Houston County Sheriff Deputy Harper was on the scene. Ashford Rescue was on the scene looking over the safety of the residents and firefighters. Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah was on the scene.
Houston County Commissioner District 2 Doug Sinquefield responded.
NOTE: This article is not about Commissioner Sinquefield, however, if RSN does not tell you then you do not know it.
Commissioner Sinquefield is great to respond to things in District 2 to check on the residents and emergency service workers. He wants to make sure all that can be provided, that as a Houston County Commissioner, if needed, he can get behind it and make it happen. He has responded to other Districts if the commissioner is out of town to check on the residents when their homes have burned down.
When a Houston County Sheriff Corrections Officer was assaulted by a inmate and transported to the hospital, Commissioner Sinquefield, at night left his home and went to the emergency room checking on the corrections officer. When Ashford Police and Houston County Sheriff Deputy had a man commit suicide in front of them, he went and ministered to them. This was at night.
So he does above and beyond the calling of the commissioner's job to check on the emergency responders and citizens when something occurs.
