Just a note to the people I serve. I have spoken with The State Emergency Management Director about the fact if our region gets the stalled rainfall that is expected that it sometimes causes flooding problems especially along the River regions of the District , The City if Geneva, Areas of Dale County , Houston County around the Columbia area and other river area and we would need The States attention and resources quickly. We also discussed the issues of flooding on the many miles if dirt roads and that would be a real problem in our region also. The State Director understands our needs in case of an Emergency and he is pre positioning resources in case of need . He has plans in place if there is the need to act. I have full confidence in all three of our Country’s EMA Directors. Chris Judah of Houston County, Misty Wise of Geneva County and Kurt McDaniel of Dale County. These people love and care about the people they serve and are well trained . We are lucky to have them. They work VERY close with the State during these weather events and with each other to ensure all our safety. We all appreciate our first responders who are a very important part in making sure all plans are implemented and lives are protected. Our Wiregrass area is so fortunate to have the Elected Officials ,EMA Officials , Fire and Rescue, Law Enforcement, School Officials, Utility Companies, Churches, Volunteers , The Media and many others working as a great team when needed. We are blessed to live in an area where people truly work together . So, know that there are a lot of folks who have your backs when times get tough. Be Safe and remember I am here for you.
