HOUSTON COUNTY: 1:51 PM Houston County Sheriff 911 has dispatched Rehobeth Fire - Hodgesville Fire - Taylor Fire - Southern Junction Fire - Rehobeth Rescue to reports of a structure fire at 50 Helms Road.
The reports to 911 are smoke and flames visible from refrigirator and the house is evacuated.
The reason for so many departments being dispatched is some of the Houston County Volunteer Fire are in automatic aid agreements. When the one department is paged, if a structure fire, the other departments are automatically dispatched. Most especially during the day when volunteer manpower is a major issue.
At 1:54 PM fireman on the scene report smoke inside the residence and making entry at this time. Houston County Sheriff Department and Dothan-Houston County Emergency Management responded.
