3:00 PM... Vehicle Fire on US 231 Just South of Big Creek

HOUSTON COUNTY: Madrid Fire was dispatched to a vehicle fire involving a box truck on US 231 just South of Big Creek. Reports are smoke visible from the rear of the truck. When first units arrived on the scene they advised the fire was out. The rear brakes were locked and got hot. this caused the large amount of smoke come from the rear of the truck.
The truck was NOT on fire just the brakes overheated. Houston County Sheriff's Office and the Alabama State Troopers also responded.
