HENRY COUNTY:   4:34 PM.    Search crews recovered the body of 51 year old Keith Price of Neville around 2 PM today.

On Wednesday evening three fishing buddies went crappie fishing. They were night fishing. Something they did regularly.

The boat was launched at Thomas Mill Creek. A fishing boat with stick steering and a 40 HP boat.

After no one had heard from them on a Thursday evening around 6 PM Henry County Sheriff Department was notified.

Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox and team members of Henry County Sheriff Department responded. Water and Air searches started immediately. Their vehicle was still in the parking lot at Thomas Mill Creek.

Since Thursday multiple agencies have been searching for the missing fisherman.

What was hopeful to be a “rescue” turned into a “recovery”.

One body was recovered on Friday. The second body was recovered on Sunday. The third body was recovered today.

Search crews also recovered the boat today. It was sunk in about 26 feet of water. Search crews brought the boat to the surface after recovering Mr. Price body this afternoon.

Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox and team members of Henry County Sheriff Department are going over the boat checking for evidence of what occurred.

Henry County Coroner Derek Wright and the Henry County Coroner’s Office conducted examinations on the bodies. All evidence points to accidental deaths.

Thanks to the host of agencies, search crews, and support groups that helped.

Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox extends his heart felt thanks to all who helped from throughout the Tri-State area. Sheriff Maddox also extends his special thanks to his fellow Sheriff’s, Coffee County Sheriff Dave Sutton and Chief Deputy Ronnie Whitworth, Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and Chief Deputy Mason Bynum, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and multiple deputies, Barbour County Chief Deputy Dollar, Henry County EMA Director Ronnie Dollar, Dothan - Houston County EMA Director Chris Judah, Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish for sending Communications Supervisor Amy Elliot and Tori Garrett, and Abbeville Police Chief Noel Vanlandingham for sending Communications Officer Dana Holmes.
