KINSEY: The Kinsey City Council meeting was called to order at 5:30 PM and went into Executive Session at 5:32 PM.
In the Executive Session was the Cits Attorney Press Register and the town accountant.
Following the Executive Session the council opened the meeting stating no official action was taken in The Executive Session. Both the attorney and accountant left the meeting immediately following the Executive Session.
As the meeting progressed the Mayor Pro Tem, Inez Armstrong resigned as Mayor Pro Tem ONLY. She remains on the council. Councilwoman Armstrong stated with what all is going on she did not feel comfortable in signing checks and until things were straightened out she would not.
Councilman Jason Reneau asked about the audit and Mayor Charles Douglas said they were waiting on some information. Reneau seemed frustrated asking how long does it take?
Councilman Joe Watson, who brought his dog to the council meeting, stated to Reneau that he heard the same thing they all heard in Executive Session.
Reneau then made a motion that no one could spend more than $ 250.00 without coming before the council. That motion was second by Councilwoman Armstrong and passed.
The Town of Kinsey is required by the laws of the State of Alabama to have a operating budget. As of tonight they do not have an approved operating budget.
The council then adjourned. Councilwoman Armstrong left the meeting acting frustrated.
As to what all is going on, well we have heard rumors. We will wait because it is expected to soon develop publically.
