8:08 PM. Motorist Wrecked And Off The Road In Gordon

HOUSTON COUNTY:    Houston County Sheriff 911 dispatched Gordon Volunteer Fire and Lucy Volunteer Fire to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 95 South of Gordon this evening. It was a minor accident with minor injuries.


The person reporting ( driver of the car ) stated they were way off the roadway.


Gordon and Lucy Fire looked all up and down Highway 95 South attempting to locate. They sounded the siren and horns but the person told the 911 dispatcher they could not hear them.


Gordon Fire Chief Justin McAllister contacted Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director Chris Judah. Cottonwood Volunteer Fire Chief Randy Hall started towards Gordon and Lucy to assist.


EMA Director Judah spoke with the 911 Communications Center. As Judah and others started preparing for a more intensive search it was finally determined the subject was in another location. The driver was located, safe and not injured.


In Houston County we have a dedicated group of volunteers who work together for the common purpose of serving this community and it’s guests in the time of need. Each one helps one across Houston County.


EMA Director Chris Judah has taken Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management to a new level of service in and through the volunteer and paid network across the county.


Tonight was an example of team work, prepardness and response. As information was developing steps were being taken for a more intensive search.


Houston County Sheriff Deputies also responded and were apart of the search and coordination.


GOOD JOB to all, beginning with the 911 Center and all involved.
