DOTHAN: 8:44 PM. Dothan 911 dispatched Police - Fire - EMS to a gunshot wound to the knee and involving a robbery at 1025 Summit Street.
The patient was transported trauma alert to a Dothan hospital.
The 911 Operators in Dothan 911 and Dothan Police Officers rapid response and developing information allowed information to be broadcast to officers.
An alert Dothan Police Officer spotted the suspect vehicle. The officer activated the blue lights but the suspects “in front of the blue lights” decided to flee.
Because the suspects were suspected of major felonies Dothan Police gave chase.
In the area of Denton Road and Dale County Road 18 - Mance Newton Road area the suspects abandoned the suspect vehicle attempting to flee on foot.
Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson dispatched air support. Multiple agencies, to include Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Napier Field Police rolled.
Dothan Police K-9 Officers were deployed. Dothan K-9 apprehended one suspect and Napier Field Police apprehended the second suspect.
TONIGHT, Dothan Police Patrol are under the command of Lt. Mock. Because Dothan Police 911, because Dothan Police were rapid responders and information developed quickly, because a Dothan Police Officer was alert and on his game, because Dothan has officers with great noses and sharp teeth ( K-9 Officers ), because folks like retired Dale County Sheriff Bryant Mixon, Retired Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Tim McDonald, Current Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and current Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum are forward futuristic thinkers and have helicopters, Suspects who shot someone in a robbery were apprehended.
