On July 8, 2018, at approximately 3:46 pm, the communications center with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a cell phone. The communications officer was unable to get an active response from the caller but was able to hear a verbal disturbance from the phone. The context of the argument was a male demanding money from a female. Based on the information gathered, the Uniform Patrol Division was dispatched to a possible Strong Arm Robbery in progress. The caller’s location was marking in the Walmart parking lot. Prior to deputy arrival, information was relayed that the incident was now located at the Travel America (TA).
Upon Deputy arrival, it was determined to be a verbal disturbance between a brother and sister. The brother, identified as Craig Jackson, was found to have an active warrant from Leon County for Grand Theft. A hit confirmation was obtained and Leon County advised they did wish to place a hold.
Craig Jackson was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance and extradition.
