9:47 PM... Smoke Smell in the Saint Mathis Church

HOUSTON COUNTY:  Multiple Fire units from Cowarts and Ashford responded to a report of a  fire at Saint Mathis Church. The first unit on scene advised nothing visible. Cowarts Fire advised burning smell and smoke inside the church.  Firefighters were able to locate the source, it was an electrical short in the A/C unit.


Cowarts fire released Ashford fire and all units went back into service. Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded along with an ambulance.
