A Republican Controlled Expenditure Passed Down Locally

HOUSTON COUNTY:    The Houston County Commission discussed money from the State of Alabama for tablet computers for the election.

Houston County Probate Judge Pat Davenport expressed to the Commissioners that the State of Alabama was giving grief on reimbursement for the purchase of the the tablets.

Houston County Commissioner Brandon Shoupe questioned the purchases, the reimbursement and expressed concerning over every computer issue costing more money. A good question...

THE ISSUE

The Republican Party became so butt hurt that Democrats were voting in the run off elections of the Republicans. Both parties have worked to confuse the voters in every way possible.

If you vote Democrat in the "primary election" ( primary are where Republicans and Democrats select who will be on the November ballot ), or you vote Republican in the "primary election", then you can not "cross over" ( if you voted Democrat on June 5 and there is a run off, you can not vote Republican in the run off ). 

Confused?

And the Republican Secretary of State has threatened criminal prosecution should you do that. However according to Probate Judge Pat Davenport, there were 6,000 errors the past election that prevented people from legally voting.

So the Republican's ( blamed on state but state is controlled by Republicans ) want computers in order to block people from voting in their primary.

BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM

Take the Houston County Sheriff race. Three candidates: The current Sheriff Donald Valenza is challenged by former Sheriff Andy Hughes and retired Deputy Randy Anderson. All three are Republicans.

On June 5th you decide to stay with Sheriff Donald Valenza, or if you don't and he does not receive 50% plus 1 of the total votes cast in the Sheriff race, then there will be a run off weeks later.

At the run off, the Sheriff election is over, UNLESS someone qualifies as an Independent.

In November the only name on the ballot will be the winner of the Republican Primary because there are no Democrats on the ballot. So election is over.

Anyone that votes as Democrat does not get to vote on the Sheriff race.

TODAY'S EXPENDITURE IS PARTY CONTROLLED

So the majority in control are Republicans. They have developed the rules. And they want to spend all the money that could be spent protecting your children in school in controlling the elections.

And the "state" has passed this expense down the chain to the local Houston County Commission because the State is broke. And the state ( Alabama Legislature ) had rather spend the money controlling the election then protecting the children in schools across this state.

So, it is a screwed up mess. I am neither a Republican or Democrat. I am an American and a Alabamian and for what is best for this country and state. If those in power would ever take that position, BAM BAM...what could be accomplished?

I GOT A GREAT IDEA

TAKE THE MONEY FROM WHAT YOU WOULD SPEND ON THIS MANURE, ON THE PROTECTION OF THE ALABAMA LEGISLATURE, THE HOST OF BODY GUARDS FOR ALABAMA ATTORNEY GENERAL AND ALABAMA GOVERNOR, AND ALL OF THE COURTHOUSES, AND PROTECT THE CHILDREN OF THE STATE IN THE SCHOOLS.
