Accident in Enterprise

On January 28, 2019, at 3:48 AM, the Enterprise Police Department responded to a traffic accident involving two motor vehicles on Hwy 167 N between Salem Road and County Road 158 Enterprise, AL. The preliminary accident investigation revealed that the two vehicles were involved in a head on collision. 


The driver of the northbound vehicle was in critical condition and was immediately airlifted for medical treatment.  The driver of this vehicle later succumbed to her injuries at a hospital.  The driver was identified as Ellen Shipman, age 63, of Daleville, AL. 


The driver of the southbound motor vehicle was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.  The EPD Traffic Homicide Unit is actively investigating this fatal traffic accident and no further information will be released.
