MONTGOMERY, Ala.- An Alabama Department of Transportation project on Alabama Highway 123 will begin Tuesday, February 12, weather permitting.
The project will consist of safety widening, resurfacing, guardrail installation, and traffic striping on Alabama Highway 123 from the intersection of Alabama Highway 51 to the intersection of U.S. Highway 231 in Ariton.
Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the construction zone and expect delays as there will be lane closures throughout the project.
ALDOT awarded the project to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, who had the lowest bid that met project requirements, at a cost of $1,428,931.64 and is expected to be complete by the end of May 2019.
ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama.
