Alabama Highway 52 Resurfacing Begins Monday

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- An Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on Alabama Highway 52 from the intersection of North Rex Street in Slocomb to east of the intersection of Wynwood Lane in Malvern, will begin Monday, February 11, weather permitting. 


The project will include safety widening, planning, resurfacing, and traffic striping.  Safety widening will consist of the widening the shoulders two feet. 


Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling through the construction zone and expect delays as there will be lane closures throughout the project. 


The $2,320,447.89 contract was awarded to Midsouth Paving, Inc., out of Birmingham, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met project requirements.  The project is expected to be completed by the end of May 2019.
