GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. – An Alabama Department of Transportation resurfacing project on Alabama Highway 52 from east of the Geneva city limits to the intersection of Alabama Highway 167 will begin on Wednesday, January 31, weather permitting.

The project will include resurfacing and two feet safety widening on the shoulders.  The project will also include scoring on the shoulders of Alabama Highway 167 from the Florida state line to Alabama Highway 123.

Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling through a construction zone and should expect delays and plan accordingly.

The $1,972,070.14 contract was awarded to Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc., out of Dothan, Ala., who had the lowest bid that met project requirements.  The project is expected to be complete by May 2018.

ALDOT’s mission is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama.
