All Florida Department of Corrections Cancel Visitation for Aug 19th and 20th

Florida Department of Corrections have cited a security threat and canceled all visitations on August 19th and August 20th for 149 facilities. They have released a statement the cancellation is in response to a credible intelligence indicating that small groups of several institutions may attempt to disrupt operations and impact safety and security.


The facilities that are included are ALL major institutions, annex facilities and work camps. The work release centers will NOT be included in this temporary cancellation. FDC say they are looking forward to getting this situation resolved and resuming normal visitation soon.


Officials have declined to answer any additional questions about this matter.
