COTTONWOOD:     A lot of chatter concerning Cottonwood School and Safety.


Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and the men and women of the Houston County Sheriff Department take the safety and security of every child and adult very serious and personal.


Over 38 year’s ago when Donald Valenza started with Houston County Sheriff Department he made a decision that he would place his life in jeopardy for the safety and security of others.


Often times people wonder what law enforcement is doing. But they can not disclose what they are doing.


There were reported comments made by a student concerning safety at Cottonwood School. Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza, the team at Houston County Sheriff Department, members of Cottonwood Police, Houston County School Supt. David Sewell and Cottonwood Principal Paul Strange were on it immediately and aggressively.


You don’t hear them discussing it. But they were on top of it.


Sheriff Donald Valenza as well as All area law enforcement commanders and officers are spending their times, energies and resources these days running down comments made.


The children at Cottonwood Schools will be safe. You might - but you might not see the extra precautions made. But be assured they are in place.


Sheriff Valenza, the men and women of Houston County Sheriff Department, the team at Cottonwood Police Department, their commitment is the willingness to place thier life on the line to protect the children and community.


So with the chatter and FB questions I have been getting, yes your children will be safe.
