On 06/15/2017 at approximately 10:45 pm Officers of the Marianna Police Department were dispatched to the Big Star Liquor Store located at 2992 Penn Ave. in reference to an Armed Robbery. Upon arrival, Officers reviewed the surveillance footage from the incident and contacted both Appalchee Correctional Institution and Jackson Correctional Institution K-9 tracking teams.

The surveillance footage depicted two black males enter the store, one is holding a white plastic bag and the other is pointing a pump style shotgun at the store clerk. One of the males demands money while the other holds the store clerk at gun point. The males then fled the store running south behind the business.

Both K-9 teams arrived and were unable to locate a track. The black male holding the plastic bag is described as approximately 5’9, 160-170 lbs., wearing grey basketball shoes, light colored shorts (possibly jean shorts), a black long sleeve shirt, and a white shirt or rag wrapped around his head and neck covering his face. The black male holding the shotgun is described as approximately 5’6-5’8, 140-150 lbs., black shoes, black pants with white dot pattern, a black long sleeve shirt missing one sleeve, and a black shirt or rag wrapped around his head covering his face.

If you have any information please contact Chipola Crimestoppers at 850-526-5000 or the Marianna Police Department at 850-526-3125. The Marianna Police Department would like to thank the Apalachee Correctional Institute and Jackson Correctional Institute K-9 teams, as well as, the Jackson County Sheriff Office for their assistance.
