As Hurricane Irma nears, Alabama prepares to help

According to Al.com: As Hurricane Irma creeps closer to the Florida coast, Alabamians are stepping up to make sure evacuees have a place to stay.
The Category 5 storm winds are topping out around 185 mph as it makes its way toward Puerto Rico. So far, two people have died during the hurricane in the French islands of St. Barts and St. Martin,according to CNN. Meteorologists suspect Irma will hit Florida this weekend, prompting officials to evacuate residents in the Florida Keys and parts of south Florida.
Tonight, Gadsden Regional Medical Center officials said they will be admitting 11 patients who are being evacuated from Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, Florida. According to CNN, the patients will board a North Carolina National Guard C-130, which will be piloted by Monroe County Fire Rescue and Key West Fire Rescue.
