Bethel Baptist Church School Kicks Off Today

DOTHAN:    After a long and extensive planning period by Rev. Ricky Plummer and others with Bethel Baptist Church, today is the day.

Bethel Baptist Church officially begins with students a school. One of the charter students is Brantley.

His teacher, Ashlyn Hubbard, is engaged to Landon Jones. They will be married April 2018.  I have had the pleasure of attending church with Landon all of his life. They are a great couple from terrific families. I found out Ashlyn'a granddaddy, Herman Hubbard and I worked together at Houston County Sheriff Department. And I knew Landon's parents before they were married. 

As you travel Cottonwood Road slow down and pay attention. That area is a school zone now.

Everyone is excited as things kick off today.

Ashlyn wrote this on her FACEBOOK:

Tomorrow morning is the day I have been longing for since I was a little girl. The dream of having my own classroom is finally coming true. My goal is to not be the perfect teacher, but to be an example of a Godly leader to my children. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous, stressed, and exhausted; however, I believe God has fully equipped me for this day, and I am truly blessed to be working with wonderful staff and administration at Bethel Christian Academy. I can never thank every single one of them enough for always answering my questions and for the friendly first year teacher advice. God is truly doing amazing things with this school and staff, and I am thrilled to work alongside each of them! By the way, this room would not be complete without my amazing family!!
