Bobby Howell Skipper
January 3, 1933 – July 9, 2017
Bobby Howell Skipper passed into his new life July 9, 2017. He was born January 3, 1933 to Lonnie and Collette Skipper. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Corina McKenzie, and 2 brothers, Hubert and Herbert Skipper. Bobby served the United Methodist Church for 68 years. While serving the church, he was a guidance counselor for the Dothan City School system for 21 years. The celebration of his life will be July 15th, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. at the Madrid United Methodist Church in Madrid, Alabama with Dr. Sam Parks officiating. Bobby gave his body to science research at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. The family will receive friends at their home at 8366 S. St. 605 in the Big Creek Community.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Sheryll Skipper, daughter Mary Evangeline Greer (James) from Jacksonville, Fl, two grandsons Marcus Payne (Lillie) from Houston, TX, William Payne (Victoria) from Mobile, AL, 3 step grandchildren, Neal Greer, Sarah Bumgarner, and Charlie Greer. There are several nieces and nephews. Special nephews and nieces, Tracie Brazier (James “Uncle Bobby’s special nephew”, Morgan “Cinderella”. Tanner “Little Buddy”) and Larry McKenzie (Carolyn).
The family wishes to thank Kendrick Hospice and especially Karen Carroll (his nurse), Dan Golden, and Cathy Dyson. And a special thanks to David Seuss of Boston, MA and the Big Creek Community.
