On July 18th 2017, officers with the Marianna Police Department investigated a burglary at Marianna Health & Rehab. Officers learned the suspect was driving a Silver Dodge Durango and stole a weed eater and blower out of a pickup truck.
Officers were able to locate the weed eater and blower on 07/20/2017 at a local area Pawn Shop. Officers identified Derrick Hogan as the individual who pawned the stolen items on 07/18/2017. Officers determined Hogan was the driving the same vehicle and wearing the same clothes that he wore during the burglary. A traffic stop was conducted on the silver Dodge Durango and Hogan was determined to be the driver. Dispatch advised Hogan’s Florida Driver’s License was suspended and he was subsequently placed under arrest.
During an inventory of the vehicle for towing purposes, a felony amount of marijuana was located along with a digital scale and sandwich baggies that are all indicative of Hogan selling marijuana.
Hogan provided a statement to officers admitting to the burglary and pawning the stolen items. Hogan was transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
