DOTHAN - HOUSTON COUNTY:    For two days Dothan Fire Captain Stephen Messer, Mr. Bob Berry - retired Police Chief of Hoover and served with Birmingham Police Department and Mr. Bob Gareri - retired Fire Chief in Huntsville has trained emergency personnel from various agencies.

The training, conducted in the EOC of Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management is Advanced Incident Command Structure.

Teaching the emergency responders of how to take command of major incidents which occur. These incidents are multi scene and multi agency incident response, and incidents that could last several days.

The incidents could have as many as 500 to 800 responders with multiple local, state and federal agencies.

Training the unified command to include the Operations Sections, Planning Sections, Logistics Section, and Finance/Administrative Section.

The training allows the first responders to know how to manage incidents that occur with multiple injuries, building collapse, train incidents, and anything which could occur.

The training trio does very good job in providing classroom instruction explaining in detail how to set up basic command for normal scenes to major operations. Operations like the tornados in Enterprise or Tuscaloosa to explanation of how command is set up like the BP Oil Spill.

How to set up for resource management and documentation.

Some agencies represented for the training Dothan Police, Dothan Fire, Dothan Communications Center, ALDOT, City of Dothan - Houston County E911ano Dothan - Houston County Emergency Managment And Alabama State Troopers.

The area responders continue to receive on going training in order to be able to protect the citizens and guests in this area when emergency events occur.
