DOTHAN: Around 12:15 PM The Dothan Police Department received a call about a person breaking into a car at Step and Style located on Reeves Street. When the vehicle owner spotted him and went to confront him the suspect reportedly pulled a hand gun and told the owner to get back.
When units arrived a description of the suspect was broadcasted over the radio. The suspect was a black male armed with a handgun. Officers surrounded the area and started tracking the suspect.
Officers received reports that the suspect had been inside the Waffle House, Dollar General and McDonalds. Once more officers arrived they spotted the suspect in the parking lot of Kmart. The suspect spotted the officers and took off running with a good head start. HOWEVER he couldn’t outrun the radio and others officers and K-9 ran him down.
Good job to the DPD officers for quick response and capture of the suspect.
