Chipley Woman Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

On August 21, 2017 a Deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a moped style vehicle traveling on Sapp Road in Cottondale, Florida. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Christina M. Boyd who had a suspended driver’s license and admitted this to the Deputy. While Boyd was retrieving a cigarette from her backpack the Deputy observed a cut straw inside the backpack. When the Deputy inquired about the cut straw Boyd was unaware of it and granted consent for the Deputy to search her backpack.
Upon searching the backpack the Deputy recovered the “cut straw” with white residue, a digital scale with white residue, and a spoon with white residue. All of the residue on the items field tested presumptive positive for Methamphetamine. A metal container was also located within the backpack with contained a crystallized substance which field tested presumptive positive for Methamphetamine as well.
Subsequently, Boyd was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance on her charges.
