CITIZEN TIPS RESULT IN ARREST FOR METH LAB

DeFuniak Springs Police recently received several tips that methamphetamine was being cooked and sold out of a local residence. Detectives conducted an investigation that led them to 882 W Orange Avenue.

Responding around noon on March 22nd with Probation and Parole, Detectives and Officers made contact with the residents and probationer, Timothy Herring. A probation search of the residence revealed numerous items of drug paraphernalia and drug activity. Detectives then obtained a probable cause search warrant of the residence.

The search revealed many items of drug paraphernalia, controlled substances to include methamphetamine, and listed chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. A hazard materials removal team from the Walton County Sheriff’s Office was called in to assist in removing the caustic chemicals and debris.

“This dangerous lab was located right in the middle of our town. Thanks to our citizens for letting us know so we can clean-up our community,” said Chief Mark Weeks. The search and clean-up lasted into the night, with four people being arrested and additional charges pending.

Arrested and charged were: Timothy Malcom Herring, age 40, for Possession of Controlled Substances, Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Possession of Listed Precursor Chemicals, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Probation Violation; 32 year old Kimberly Marie Fiss for Possession of Xanax with Intent to Distribute, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Paraphernalia; Angel Marie Allen, age 31, for Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Paraphernalia; 51 year old Elmer Olin Andrews for Possession of Paraphernalia.
