Four years ago today I was in the middle of my very first Cake Fundraiser for a family who had been through the heartache of losing their only child to cancer.

They buried their child Cody Hayes on Father's Day in 2014. Yes that’s right...On Father’s Day!

I never met Cody But I had kept up with his courageous fight, his faith and his love for others through his mom's Facebook page. I told my daughter about Cody and we decided we could probably make 20 cakes and raise $500.00 for his family to help with expenses.

I don't remember exactly how much Cakes For Cody raised but the 20 cakes turned into over 100 cakes and raised over nine thousand dollars for Cody and his parents.

Since Cakes For Cody my Cake fundraisers has raised over $150,000 for children with Cancer and other deadly diseases and It is all because of Cody Hayes.

Cody Hayes Showed me how to give back to others. He lifted the hopes and spirits of other children fighting cancer walking the halls of children's hospital where Cody was being treated.

Cody Hayes should be an inspiration to us all. We live in a very troubled world with sadness all around us. SO We Must All Try And Make A Positive Difference In The Lives Of Others....Cody Hayes Did ❤️

Cody Showed Me How God Gave Us Each A Special Gift...That Gift Is A Simple Smile.

It's Amazing How A Smile From One To Another Can Lift That Persons Spirits For Eternity So Share Your Smile With Someone Who Needs It....Cody Hayes Did🤗

He Also Showed Me How To Give A Helping Hand To Others In Need Even When You Barely Have Anything Left To Give Yourself...So Lend A Helping Hand To Someone In Need...Cody Hayes Did 🤝

Cody Hayes Taught Me How To Show Love And Compassion For Others. He Taught Me So Much And Yet...I Never Met This Awesome Young Man, This Loving Son...This Great Friend To So Many...Named Cody Hayes❤️

You Know We May Not Sometimes See It...But It Really Is A Wonderful World After All Because Of The Loving, Caring and Giving People Like Cody Hayes and For The Wonderful People Like.....YOU!!! Yes YOU🙏

But I ask for a special prayer for Frank Hayes as he mourns the loss of his child on Father's Day.
