Comedy, and a Holiday Tradition Available at SEACT this Fall

DOTHAN:  SEACT.com and the SEACT Office are selling tickets for Moon Over Buffalo, performing Oct. 24-28, and A Christmas Story, performing Dec. 4-9, both on stage at the Cultural Arts Center in Dothan. In the madcap comedy tradition of Waiting for Guffman, the hilarious Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950s. At the moment, they’re playing Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo, New York with five actors. On the brink of a disastrous split-up caused by George’s dalliance with a young ingénue, they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee! Unfortunately for George and Charlotte, everything that could go wrong does go wrong, abetted by a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiancé and hilarious uncertainty about which play they’re actually performing, caused by Charlotte’s deaf, old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George’s body.  SEACT presents Moon Over Buffalo on the Cultural Arts Center stage Oct. 24-28. Each performance runs approximately 2 hours with one 15-minute intermission. This show contains mild profanity and colorful humor.

 

All nine year-old Ralphie wants for Christmas is a Red Ryder Carbine Action 200-shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock and "this thing which tells time." The beloved story, based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd and viewed on television by millions every Christmas Eve, returns to the SEACT stage in a holiday dinner theatre for the whole family. Ralphie spends most of his time dodging a bully and dreaming of his ideal gift. But every adult in his life says he’ll shoot his eye out! Dinner seating and show-only seating are available. SEACT presents A Christmas Story on the Cultural Arts Center stage Dec. 4-9. Each performance runs approximately 2 hours with one 15-minute intermission. This production is sponsored by SunSouth Bank, and appropriate for most, ages 8 and older.

 

Tickets are available online at www.SEACT.com or by contacting the SEACT Office (334) 794-0400.   The SEACT office is open for ticket sales between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and located inside the Cultural Arts Center at 909 S. St. Andrews Street in Dothan. Tickets for Moon Over Buffalo are $19 for adults and $17 for students/seniors 65+/military with ID. Tickets for A Christmas Story are $40 with dinner or $20 each for show-only seating.
