On Saturday, April 21, WRC’s Assured Data Destruction, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and Discovery Recycling will offer residents the opportunity to have their unused outdated electronics (excluding glass-screen TVs), paper records and data storage materials shredded and recycled during a FREE Community Recycling Event.
Drop off your items to be recycled or shredded at the Houston County Farm Center Parking Lot from 8:00- 11:00 a.m. CRT computer monitors will be accepted for a fee. “This recycling event, held in conjunction with the Houston County Spirit of Service Day, aims to raise public awareness of the need to securely destroy confidential material in order to prevent identify theft and fraud,” Green said.
She added, “It also encourages people to recycle more,” said Cynthia Green, Director of Development at Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center. WRC’s shred division--Assured Data Destruction is AAA NAID (National Association for Information Destruction) Certified, the highest certification available for the secure document destruction business.
For additional information and for a list of accepted items during the Community Recycling Day, please contact Cynthia Green at Assured Data Destruction at 334.798.1288 or email [email protected] or visit www.myassureddatadestruction.com.
