COTTONWOOD: 1:30 AM. Cottonwood Police stopped a vehicle which was occupied by two people.
The driver gave the Cottonwood Police Officer down the road. The driver then fled into the woods on foot. The Cottonwood Officer gave chase.
Yes, one officer and two suspects.
The driver was able to circle to the vehicle and take officer. The Cottonwood Officer gave chase with the vehicle finally stopping on a dirt road off Dyras Road.
At some point Cottonwood Fire and Cottonwood Rescue were paged of a Vehicle Fire. They arrived thinking it was a vehicle but arrived and entering into a situation where Officers had the passenger but the driver fled and officers with their weapons drawn.
Cottonwood Fire and Cottonwood Rescue were not told to stage until the scene was safe. They entered into a very dangerous situation. Both Cottonwood Fire and Cottonwood Rescue backed out of the scene because of the danger.
The driver escaped. The passenger was taken into custody.
There was no vehicle fire so Cottwood Fire and Cottonwood Rescue do not know really why they were called. They entered a dangerous situation.
