Cottonwood Man Arrested in Jackson County

On 6-19-18 at approximately 19:01 hrs members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the United States Marshal’s Service Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force executed an arrest warrant at a residence in Malone, FL. During the execution of the arrest warrant, multiple other subjects were located at the residence. One of the subjects, Zackery Mercer of Cottonwood, AL was observed attempting to conceal objects in a vehicle. While visually checking the vehicle, a member of the Fugitive Task Force observed a Marijuana cigarette in plain view. Subsequently, a probable cause search of Mercer’s person revealed two plastic baggies containing quantities of Methamphetamine.
Mercer was lodged at the Jackson County Correctional facility to await first appearance.
