Cottonwood Rescue Providing Non Emergency Patient Transport and Handling 911 Calls

COTTONWOOD: Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue Inc. has been providing emergency medical care going into the 30th year.

This year alone, 2018, Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue Inc. has handled around 500 medical 911 calls. The area served by Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue, Inc. consists of about 137 square miles, according to Houston County Road and Bridge.

The territory the men and women of Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue cover consists from Highway 231 South to the Florida/Alabama line, then east to the Alabama/Georgia line and Alabama/Florida line off Highway 95.

A 911 crew remains at the station 24/7 for the 911 calls.

During Hurricane Michael one ambulance was totaled during the storm. A surrounding agency has assisted Cottonwood in loaning a ambulance they were placing on govdeals.com.

Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue, Inc. has signed the order for two new van ambulances to replace the one lost in Hurricane Michael.

NON 911 CALL TRANSPORTS

Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue, Inc. currently has one ambulance staffed 24/7 just for 911 calls.

Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue also has a ambulance available for transports to the hospital where the patient is required to be transported by ambulance. To the nursing home/hospital, dialysis, and transfer to another medical facility or home.

We will have a wheelchair van for transport available in a couple of weeks.

At this time the ambulances are BLS. We are working an advanced team transport.

Once the new ambulances arrive we will have two 911 ambulances and two for transport.
