DOTHAN: These court cases are scheduled in the 20th Judicial Circuit in Houston and Henry County Alabama:
HOUSTON COUNTY:
HONORABLE HOUSTON COUNTY DISTRICT COURT JUDGE BENJAMIN LEWIS each morning has initial appearances. These are people who have not made bond. They are required to be seen by a Judge or Magistrate within 48 to 72 hours "of their arrest". Judge Lewis follows the law even when on holidays he or another Judge comes to the Houston County Jail for the initial appearances.
These persons are seen via a TV screen from the jail to the courtroom.
HONORABLE 20th JUDICIAL District-Criminal COURT Benjamin Lewis has a docket of 50 cases of District- Criminal. These cases are misdemeanor Robbery 1st. He also had Domestic Relations with 4 and in District-Civil with 1 case in Traffic had 3 cases.
HONORABLE 20th JUDICIAL CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE John Steensland Circuit-Criminal had a total of 1 cases scheduled.
HONORABLE 20th JUDICIAL CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE Todd Derrick had a total of 187 cases these are misdemeanor from Murder Capital to Fraud use of Credit card. He also had Circuit –Civil with 1 cases and 23 cases in District-Criminal.
HENRY COUNTY HAD NO COURT.
