DOTHAN:     Auburn Assistant Manager Kevin Cowper attempted to get the City Manager job in Vestavia Hills in year 2011. The City of Vestavia Hills offered Cowper a salary of $ 135,000.00.

Cowper countered the City's offer at $ 148,000.00. Vestavia Hills refused his offer and they parted ways.

DOTHAN SET TO HIRE KEVIN COWPER AS CITY MANAGER ON TUESDAY

WHEN AND WHERE WAS PROMISED MEET AND GREET OF CANDIDATES?

On Tuesday Cowper found 6 men and 1 woman that realized they were dealing with OPM, ( 0THER PEOPLE'S MONEY! ).    The 6 men are Mark Saliba, Kevin Dorsey, Janesky Fleming, Albert Kirkland, John Ferguson, and David Crutchfield, with 1 woman Beth Kenward.

On Tuesday they are set to give Kevin Cowper the City of Dothan's money as follows:      $ 190,000.00 a year salary; $ 700 a month auto allowance; membership in the Retirement Systems of Alabama; Life Insurance in the amount of $ 250,000.00; long term disability to pay 60% of the salary or $ 114,000.00 a year; 10 days managerial leave; paid holidays; sick leave accrued at 6 hours per pay period not to exceed 12 hours a month with a maximum of 288 hours roll over...

Now get this...for 6 months $ 1,250.00 a month housing allowance, with a requirement he is to live in the city limits of Dothan, Alabama...

And pay moving expenses for Cowper to move from Auburn Alabama to Dothan Alabama. You want to bet who the moving company will be? Jeff Coleman!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO KEVIN COWPER.  The Mayor and 6 Dwarfs are free with the City of Dothan money to those from out of town. It is the locals and the Dothan workforce they urinate on. We know you could not find any in Vestavia Hills or the other places you applied but you won the lottery in Dothan Alabama.

Hopefully they also told you the other benefit. You can spend up to $ 15,000.00 without Commission approval and they never let those figures released to the public. So behind closed doors you can spend that $ 15,000.00 as many times a day as you want to. So do not forget about that and check into it. We do not need any money left on the table.

The current actor playing City Manager, Mike West, will leave at the end of March on his contract as "Acting City Manager". Without public discussion the Mayor and 6 DWARFS will make Public Works Director Billy Mayes the "Acting City Manager" from April 1, 2019 until April 14, 2019. Then Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams will step into the actors chair as "Acting City Manager" from April 15 through April 28, 2019.

Then Assistant City Manager of Auburn Alabama, Kevin Cowper will be the new Dothan City Manager.

Cowper's resume looks good. Articles about him look good.

Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba promised a Meet-n-Greet with the "candidates for City Manager" with the citizens. I know that Saliba does what he says and that meet-n-greet with the citizens must have been one awesome meet-n-greet with Cowper. He impressed the citizens of Dothan. Because Saliba kept his word the people were impressed with him.

Because Saliba kept his word the other candidates the citizens of Dothan met, well they were all duds and the people of Dothan did not like them at all. So the Mayor and 6 Dwarfs said no to hiring them. That Cowper was the man.

"While the governing body has not set the official interview process, the mayor plans to propose each candidate attend a question-and-answer session with the media and the public, individual meetings with each commissioner, and a social meet-and-greet. The meet-and-greet would allow the commission to witness how each candidate networks in social situations, Saliba noted."

Sorry, I do not remember the names of the duds that were City Manager candidates in the meet and greet. Do not remember when Cowper's meet and greet was. Must have been just with Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce people.
