PERTINENT INFORMATION:
The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the July 17, 2018, Primary Runoff Election is this Thursday, July 12, 2018. To vote by mail, the voter may obtain an application online at www.alabamavotes.gov and mail to the Absentee Election Manager at P.O. Drawer 6404, Dothan, AL 36302. All applications MUST be received by Thursday, July 12, 2018. Third-party delivery is not allowed. To vote in person, the Absentee Election Manager’s Office is located in Room 405 of the Houston County Courthouse and is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Party preference must be notated on the application, and no cross-over voting is allowed in a Primary Runoff (in other words, must vote in the same party for both the Primary and Primary Runoff elections). IMPORTANT DATES
Thursday, July 12, 2018: This is the last day voters may apply for a regular absentee ballot for the July 17, 2018, Primary Runoff Election. Applications must be received in the Absentee Election Manager’s Office on this date. No ballots can be mailed to voters after this date. Only one application per envelope accepted; Party preference must be notated.
Monday, July 16, 2018: This is the last business day before the election and is the last day a voter can return in person his or her regular absentee ballot. No one, not even a family member, can return another person’s ballot, except a medical emergency ballot. This is the last day to vote business emergency ballots.
Tuesday, July 17, 2018: Mailed ballots must be received in the Absentee Election Manager’s Office no later than noon this date. Emergency medical ballots must be received by noon on this date in the Absentee Election Manager’s Office by the designee.
