HOLMES COUNTY – A DeFuniak Springs man is facing drug charges following an early morning traffic stop on Wednesday, March 21.
Around 4 a.m., a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped a male subject riding a dirt bike without any headlights at the intersection of Highway 81 and Highway 90.
A computer check revealed that the driver, identified as Thomas Earl Roper, III of DeFuniak Springs, did not have a driver’s license.
The deputy observed that Roper had a glass pipe used to smoke methamphetamine in his hand, and a further search revealed a container that held a small, plastic baggy containing methamphetamine.
Roper was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
