Discovery of Dead Body in Fort Payne AL

FT PAYNE, AL - Authorities in Alabama are investigating the discovery of a dead body in a field.


Reports are the body was found Sunday afternoon in DeKalb County, roughly 65 miles east of Huntsville AL.


DeKalb County Deputy Coroner Bruce Wilson confirmed the body was found off County Road 592. An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.


Officials have not released the name of the person found dead. Wilson said authorities were working to notify the person's family first.
