HOUSTON COUNTY: This morning I was walking to the Houston County Courthouse. Behind the Sheriff Office was Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza.
Stopped for a minute to talk with Sheriff Valenza and he received a phone call from Jackson County Sheriff Lou Roberts. The conversation stemmed around a case that Jackson and Washington County were working together.
The two Sheriff’s talked. Sheriff Valenza was asked to assist. Within moments Sheriff Donald Valenza and several Criminal Investigators were rolling to Washington County ( Chipley ) Florida to meet with the two Sheriff’s and their team of Investigators.
I want the people to understand some important facts. Election Day is June 5. Down to the wire so time for politician’s to be in the final crunch of shaking hands soliciting votes.
But without ANY HESITATION WHATSOEVER - not even a pause, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza said himself and a couple Houston County Sheriff Investigators with some specialized training are rolling.
That is the type person Donald Valenza is and has been for 39 years of service with Houston County Sheriff Department.
The Service to the public is first. The integrity and professionalism is first.
Wish I was at liberty to explain in detail more of specifics they were working on so you would understand more. Because of the nature of what is on going I can not. I just happen to be standing there as the conversation was going on
But Sheriff Donald Valenza - if he fails to shake your hand and ask for your vote, sorry, he was doing what he has for 39 years of continuous service of the people of Houston County, his job. And as Sheriff he feels even more of an responsibility to the people to do his job.
All of the area Sheriff’s and Chief Of Police in the area, there are only geographical boundaries. Each one has the other’s back and work together and together.
COFFEE COUNTY - DALE COUNTY - COVINGTON COUNTY
This afternoon Coffee County Sheriff Dave Sutton, Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and Covington County Sheriff Dennis Meeks were working a foot search and K-9search for a suspect who fled off Highway 165. Also assisting them were Alabama State Troopers.
Again, three county Sheriff’s, all up for re-election on June 5, but all doing their jobs. That taking priority.
I do not know Covington County Sheriff Dennis Meeks. Seen him, do not know him. So I can not truthfully say anything factually about his job performance.
Coffee County Sheriff Dave Sutton and Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson. I can speak with knowledge about them and their job performance.
They are working Sheriff’s. On the streets doing their jobs. Without hesitation they are there for the people they serve. In the office as administrators and on the street.
Not just at election time but each and every day.
They were today. Great working relationships within their respective counties but with surrounding counties.
