DOTHAN: Tonight in a fairly packed house the Dothan City School board voted 5 to 2 on Proposal number 5, there was no discussion before the vote.
This afternoon the board met to discuss the two plans on the table and according to the vote they picked the one they wanted.
Scenario 5, will put grades K through six together across 10 schools, seventh through ninth graders at Dothan High and tenth through twelfth graders at Northview High School.
Even with tonight vote this will take some time to put into place.
Everyone has complained the Dothan City School System needed to change and now they are.
Chairman Mike Schmitz, one who is a successful businessman, rolled up his sleeves studying the issues. After careful study, thoughts, discussion and prayers, steps for positive change were voted on tonight.
People will and are complaining. But with change comes complaints.
But at least someone who loves Dothan is working to bring about change based on sound advise and wisdom.
