DOTHAN: The Dothan Education Foundation (DEF) recently received a generous grant of $12,361 from The Malone Family Foundation to benefit Dothan Education Foundation’s Teacher & School Grants program.
“With community partners like the Malone Family Foundation, we are able to maximize the positive impact of the Teacher and School Grant Program on education in our Dothan City Schools.” said Gindi Prutzman, Dothan Education Foundation President. “By expanding to offer school grants this year, the DEF is able to assist an entire school, rather than a single classroom or specific grade level.”
Since 1995, the Dothan Education Foundation has awarded over $430,000 in grants to Dothan City School teachers to encourage innovative teaching to enhance the educational experience for students by supplying funds for activities that would otherwise be unavailable - activities outside the scope of normal funding. In 2017, the DEF announced the availability of School Grants. Through School Grants, financial support will be provided for projects, equipment, professional development or any other plans that would make an impact on the entire school population rather than just a singular classroom.
