COMMENTS

Slaughter classes 2 to 3 higher . Replacement pairs and bred cows steady . Calves and feeder cattle 3 to 5 dollars higher again. Market activity very strong and all buyers with good orders. Lots of optimism around the ring. I thought this old market would open up better after first of the year, but it just keeps gaining steam. Outlook continues very good with solid undertone, and with very strong BEEF demand around the world as well as here and a very impressive economy!! We could very well see an increase in domestic demand with the TAX CUTS kicking in a few days from now. All things considered, it looks very promising. Fed cattle in the west 4 holding steady @ 1.25- 1.27, with some Auction cattle in Iowa reported up to 130.00 !!
