COMMENTS
Slaughter classes 3 to 5 lower . Replacement pairs and bred cows steady . Calves and feeder cattle 5 to 8 lower. Market certainly backed off but still a strong market and should steady up. We always see a drop when they are between winter grazing and summer grass in the West, but I think we are seeing it earlier this time due to drought conditions and some late winter weather in parts of the west and Mid West. I still think the long range outlook is good. Fed cattle in the West last week lower @ 1.21 to 1.22 and once again some auction cattle in Iowa up to 1.29 !!Thanks for letting us handle your cattle and if we can be of any help, just let us know!
**** NEXT MONDAY, 4-9-18, ANOTHER COMPLETE DISPERSAL OF 45 GOOD YOUNG COWS, MOSTLY BLACK AND MANY ARE JUST 2ND AND 3RD CALF COWS, 15-20 WITH CALVES AT SIDE AND BALANCE BRED. ALSO 2 BRANGUS BULLS, 1 COMING 3 AND 1 COMING 4 YEARS OLD. AND FROM ANOTHER PRODUCER, 1 BLACK SIMMENTAL BULL, 31/2 YEARS OLD. THIS BULL CAME THROUGH THE FLORIDA BULL TEST.
