Dothan Police Releases Statement on the Pedestrian Struck

On June 5th, 2017, at about 1:22 a.m., Dothan Police units responded to a motor vehicle crash involving an on-duty Houston County Deputy and a pedestrian in the 2800 block of East Main Street.  The deputy was traveling east on East Main Street in the right lane. 


The pedestrian was also traveling east in the right lane when the collision occurred.  The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd.  The pedestrian has been identified as Quinton Cortez Samuel, 20 years of age, from Ocala, Florida. 


The crash is being investigated by the Dothan Police Department Traffic Division.
