DOTHAN—A Dothan, Ala., rapper will seek to raise money through the month of December for a local married couple to assist with costs of an in vitro fertilization procedure.

Corey Bigbie, 29, has pledged to donate all sales of his ninth album, "Major League," to Clay and Paige Hatcher, a Dothan couple looking to conceive a child through in vitro fertilization. The pledge begins on Dec. 1 and will conclude on Jan. 1.

In vitro fertilization, or IVF, is a procedure in which conception is achieved with laboratory assistance and is rarely covered by insurance. Most procedures occur due to infertility in one or both of the parents.

Bigbie has toured with Grammy award winners, and legendary rap pioneers, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. From there, he was able to write and record "Up and Down," which featured TJ Freeq and Layzie Bone of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. In October 2017, Bigbie released "Take Flight," an anthem for the Atlanta Falcons that featured Shun Cool and Pastor Troy. The music video went viral in a matter of days and has been played at the team's home games following its release

Bigbie says that while he kept all production for "Major League" local between Alabama and Georgia, using a Dothan photographer, logo designer and Dothan landmarks for the album's artwork, he wanted to give back to a cause that affects him personally. Bigbie has known the Hatchers for almost a decade and considers them family.

Bigbie hopes to use these guest appearances on his album, as well as his rising popularity, to help raise awareness for the couple's need. The album will be released on Dec. 29, but fans can pre-order a copy through the Hatchers' Kickstarter page. The Kickstarter prices will be the same as retail and digital, but the fans who purchase theirs through the Kickstarter will receive a special edition of the album.
