Escapee Captured in Florida

On 6-19-17 at approximately 7:51 p.m. the Fugitive Apprehension Division of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Cottondale Police Department and the Florida Highway Patrol, took Shannon Lee Harrison into custody at a residence on Zion St. in Cottondale Florida.
Harrison was reported as an escapee from the Houston County Community Correctional Facility on Saturday, June 17th after he absconded from a work detail.
With the help of the public, Harrison was located and taken into custody without incident. The residents where he was staying were unaware that he had escaped.
He also had outstanding warrants from Covington, Geneva, Houston , and Coffee Counties, all in Alabama as well as a warrant from Holmes County Florida.
Charges ranged from probation violations to burglary, theft, and forgery with the most serious charge being escape.
He was lodged in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance before being extradited to various other jurisdictions to face charges.
Sheriff Louis Roberts would like to thank the Cottondale Police Department and the Florida Highway Patrol for their assistance in bringing this fugitive to justice.
