On Saturday September 22, 2018 at approx. 9:38 pm officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to a multi vehicle traffic crash in front of McDonalds. While on scene officers learned from witnesses that a semi-truck that was involved in the crash kept going and did not stop.
An officer with the Marianna Police Department was able to catch up to the semi on Highway 73 just south of US 231. The officer was able to match the damage on the semi with the damage to the vehicle. Upon further investigation it was learned that a silver Chevrolet driven by Lacinta Davis, of Marianna, FL, crossed Lafayette Street attempting to get on Milton Ave from McDonalds.
In doing so Davis struck a white Ford driven by Larry Gray Jr., of Cottondale, FL, traveling east bound on Lafayette Street. The initial impact sent Davis’s car into a spin and into the west bound lanes of Lafayette Street. Once in the west bound lanes, Davis’s vehicle was struck by a semi driven by Cierria Noble, of Montgomery, AL. Davis’s front seat passenger had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire rescue personnel.
Davis and her front seat passenger were both transported to a local hospital and later transported to a different hospital due to their injuries. Davis also had two juvenile passengers in the backseat who were unharmed.
Both the Gray and Noble were unharmed in the crash. Noble was later placed under arrest at the conclusion of the crash and transported to Jackson County Correctional Facility.
