FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY MORNING...
.Substantial amounts of tropical moisture continue to push into
the tri-state region this afternoon from the tropical wave located
in the southern Gulf of Mexico. As this system moves
north/northwestward, showers will increase in coverage, perhaps as
early as late this evening/overnight and persist through early
Thursday. These showers will be very efficient rainfall
producers, with high rainfall rates yielding flash flood potential
through Thursday, particularly in urban areas and areas that are
saturated from recent heavy rainfall.
...FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY MORNING THROUGH
THURSDAY MORNING...
The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a
* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Alabama, the Florida
Panhandle, central and western Big Bend of Florida, and
southwest Georgia.
* From Tuesday morning through Thursday morning
* Widespread expected amounts of 3 to 6 inches west of the
Apalachicola River; 1 to 3 inches east of the river.
* Reasonable worst case: Rainfall amounts of 6 to 12 inches are
possible west of the Apalachicola River, particularly from
Panama City westward. Rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches are
possible, generally west of a line from Tallahassee to Albany.
* Road closures will be possible, particularly in low lying areas
and in poor drainage areas. The greatest risk for life
threatening flash flooding exists in urban areas and near small
streams which rise rapidly in torrential rain.
