MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The former treasurer of the Alabama Jail Association has been convicted of stealing from the association. Marianne Adams pleaded guilty to first-degree theft in excess of $5,000, according to Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall's office.
Adams has been ordered to serve three years of probation. She has already made an initial restitution payment of $5,000.
“It is vital for our citizens to be able to trust those who work in law enforcement and the organizations that represent them, and that is why it is important that this defendant has been held to account for her crime,” Marshall said.
