Bitter sweet Monday. MOVING DAY...

Charlie and I are in Montgomery at The State House clearing out my office before November 6 th. Wow! 20 years of wonderful memories and a few terrifying moments. So many thoughts and emotions tonight before packing everything up in the morning. What an opportunity of a life time to have the honor to serve you all. I am going to miss representing you. It has truly been an honor. So many memories and stories going through my mind. It feels like a dream tonight driving by The Capitol and State House. I saw the eternal flame that burns on the grounds of The State Capitol and remembered my first year after passing a bill and being asked by the Governor to come over to his office for A “Bill Signing Ceremony ” . I remembered walking by that flame , getting chills and thinking about what an awesome moment I was about to be part of. I had just had the opportunity to sponsor and pass a bill that was about to become a LAW , a bill that was an ideal that you had and ask me to sponsor, a bill that would help protect the lives of our children . Wow! With your help WE had accomplished something that would have a lasting impact for our children for years to come. Not only had We accomplished something really good for our State WE had became a part of History that day. Imagine those feelings ......because you made it possible over and over again with your thoughts and suggestions to improve our area and State through the years so you should be as proud as I was and am. You all have been a part of the team that has helped govern our area, with your voices. My service to our State has always been about what you wanted and any successes were YOURS....You have always been there for me in every battle. The emotions and feelings of that walk that day and the walks in the years to come always reminded me of the trust you had placed in me and the wonderful opportunity you had given me . I have always tried to live up to that trust and to serve you with compassion and honor. As of November 6, 2018 election night a New Senator will take over . Wishing him all the best. I hope he understands that he is about to have the chance of a lifetime to be able to represent the best folks a person could ever have the opportunity to serve. You all have stood by me in the good times and the bad times. You have lifted me up and supported me when Others thought they had silenced us. You all have spoke out against the establishment and told The Power brokers that Government is YOURS. I have been so proud to represent you ....Being your INDEPENDENT STATE SENATOR meant so much to me because it gave me the opportunity to answer only to YOU , The People....NO special interest, NO Party Agenda ....JUST A TRUE VOICE FOR YOU ...THE PEOPLE’ S VOICE...Thank you for always speaking your mind in so many ways whether it was through social media, phone calls, email and in person. Your voices helped me to try and determine the will of the people. I hoped I got it right most of the time and I know sometimes you might have disagreed with a vote or two ( laughs for some I am sure) but know I tried to do the best I could to represent you the best I knew how to. In serving you ..YOU were and are IMPORTANT to me. I will never forget you and cherish all our special memories we have shared. Tomorrow will be filled with emotions that represent memories of you all. Know I cherish your friendship and love. I will always be “ just Harri Anne” and will only be a phone call away . I will continue to finish out my term until the evening of November the 6th. Thank you for so much for allowing me to be YOUR Senator ....THE PEOPLES SENATOR ....but most of all ....THANK YOU for your loyal friendship and support through the years.
